When visiting the province of Jujuy in Argentina, there are several beautiful destinations to explore. Starting from the city of Salta, you can visit San Salvador de Jujuy, the Quebrada de Humahuaca, Yala, Volcano, Tumbaya, Purmamarca, and the famous “Cerro de los 7 Colores” (Hill of the Seven Colors). Other noteworthy places to visit include Maimará, known for its colorful landscape known as the “Paleta del Pintor” (Painter’s Palette), Tilcara with its archaeological ruins at “El Pucará de Tilcara,” Huacalera, which marks the Tropic of Capricorn, and Uquía, home to the impressive Cuzco Paintings.
Once you reach Uquía, we will transfer to a 4WD vehicle for the journey to Hornocal. Here, you can admire breathtaking panoramic views. On the return trip, there will be a 20-minute stop in Humahuaca. It is advisable to bring your own lunch or light snacks as there will be no time to stop at a restaurant in Humahuaca. The total distance covered on this route is 516 km, and the duration of the trip is approximately 13 hours. Departure time is scheduled between 07.00 to 7.35 am.

Embark on a breathtaking journey through a stunning gorge, where hills display vibrant colors that have been created over thousands of years through the oxidation of minerals. With a total mileage of 128 km, the tour reaches a maximum height of 3012 meters above sea level. The adventure begins with a pick up from San Salvador de Jujuy at 9:00 a.m. Our destination is Humahuaca City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the outskirts of Jujuy province. This journey will showcase the exceptional colors of northern Argentina, as well as the rich tapestry of its culture, unique towns, and welcoming locals.
Starting from San Salvador de Jujuy, our first stop is Purmamarca, where we’ll encounter the majestic 7-colors Hill. Next, we’ll visit Tilcara, followed by Humahuaca, the largest town in the gorge. We’ll also explore Uquía, a small town that houses the 17th-century Church of San Francisco de Paula, which is adorned with ancient paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels. In Huacalera, we’ll have the opportunity to step on the imaginary line of the Tropic of Capricorn. Finally, we’ll stop at The Painter’s Palette in Maimará.
The longest stop of the tour will be in Humahuaca City, where you can savor a delicious lunch featuring regional dishes made with llama meat. This is also the perfect time to explore the town, immerse yourself in its culture and history, and witness the vibrant Carnival celebrations that take place here. After lunch, we’ll begin our return journey, with the option to adjust the itinerary if necessary.
